Driver’s License Bursary

Access to transportation is essential for employment, education, and health services, not to mention fundamental for social inclusion and safety. In rural areas such as the Eastern Townships, where there are very limited and largely non-existent public transportation options, being able to drive a vehicle is a critical life skill.

The cost of completing mandatory driver’s education is prohibitive, and LDWC hopes to be able to break this access barrier for some women in our community through the establishment of this bursary.

Secret Santa

The LDWC’s Secret Santa Campaign pairs kids of all ages with community sponsors. was created so that every child in our community wakes up to find a gift under their Christmas tree. Everyone deserves to experience the joy and magic of Christmas!

16 Days of Activism

Each year, from 25 November to 10 December, World Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism campaign calls for action against one of the world’s most persistent violations of human rights – violence against women.

During the 16 Days of Activism, people around the world unite to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge discriminatory attitudes, and call for improved laws and services to end violence against women for good.

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
